No Shortcut
Monday, January 7th, 2008One of my most favorite shortcut keys, if you can call it that, is Ctrl+F. Everyday, I have to face my PC. And I am not a person with a long line of patience. So with this shortcut, it makes everyday life easy, at least, when it comes to finding data. In my line of work, do you honestly think I have memorized all those Tax Regulations and Acts that I'm supposed to use? I am not a tax auditor or a tax lawyer! But there's always Ctrl+F to help me.
Wouldn't it be great if we can have a Ctrl+F in our lives…
Want to find that right man for you? Press Ctrl+F.
Want to find out if your man is cheating on you? Press Ctrl+F.
How about the right job for you? Press Ctrl+F.
Want to find what makes you happy? Press Ctrl+F.
Want to find out what kind of diet that will make you lose 40 pounds in 10 days without exercising and without eliminating rice in your life? Press Ctrl+F.
And it's not just Ctrl+F. I love how I can click UNDO and BACK when I make mistakes. I love how I can easily put formulae in my Excel sheets, enabling me to just key-in the values then voila! I love how I can easily put TAGS in my blog and sites, making it easier for me to classify my thoughts. I love how I can use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V if I want to use whatever data again.
How I wish I can use those shortcuts in real life…To be able to click UNDO or BACK when I commit grave mistakes that hurt other people, or worse, hurt myself… To be able to use pre-determined formulae that will make me successful, happy, contented… To be able to put TAGS on people and experiences so I know which ones to avoid, which ones to follow, which ones to love, which ones to choose… To be able to Copy-Paste the good memories so it can just continue to give me that oh-so-wonderful feeling again and again and again.
But then, there are no shortcuts in life. We all have choices to make, consequences to face, crosses to carry, trials to surpass.
The Drama Queen strikes again. What's happening to me? I'm just 28. I'm too young to have a mid-life crisis!

Posted by pinayinsg at January 7, 2008, 7:59 pmhi chie! Walang comment box dun sa tumblr e. it’s the easiest way for me to blog kaya yun ang site na ginawa ko hehe. Alam mo naman ako, tamad. at di kagaya mo na blessed with a lot of creative juices. Yup, anton is turning one next week, jan. 17. We will just have a simple gathering at Max’s Glorietta 2 (the one beside Gilligans) kaya baka di ko na ma present yung AVP. You can still make one for posterity’s sake though. I will send the pics ASAP. Medyo busy kasi post-holiday blues and pre-Anton birthday stress ako ngayon. NO rush on the AVP though. Btw, please send me Cha’s number so I can invite them. Nawala ko kasi dati kong SIM e =)

Great entry, Chie! Oo nga, wouldn’t it be nice to have those little short cuts and formula? But then again, if we cut and paste only those that are beautiful in our life, it would be extremely boring too. How else would we learn all of life’s lesson if we did not make that fateful mistake? I’m so proud of your blog! I read it everyday. My way of knowing how you are now. I miss you! Wishing you a blessed year with Jun in Singapura!
