When your best friend is cheating on her husband

I was doing my daily bloghopping and I went to one of my favorite sites, WifeSpeaks. Their recent topic is about a cheating spouse. If you found out about it, what would you do?

I thought: Of course I'm gonna tell on him! If I learned that my best friend's husband is cheating on her, I will let her know about it. Actually, she doesn't even have to be my BFF for me to tell her. If she's my friend and I care for her, then I will definitely tell her.

BUT…The scenario in the topic comes with a twist.

What if the cheating spouse is your BFF?! You found out accidentally or admittedly. What would you do? Would you tell her Best Friend Forever's husband that she's cheating on him?

Hmmm. It really made me think. I admit, knowing how creative-slash-paranoid I get when it comes to imagining the worst scenarios, I never really thought about this one.

Then I remember my own BFFs…Ok just for the point of argument, let's say I  am/was cheaing my husband. (of course, it goes without saying that this is highly, extremely, undoubtedly impossible). Then they find out. What would THEY do? Would my best friends tell on me???

Hmm…They have such different personalities and different approach to situations.

When my BFFs find out, here's what I think they'll do…

• Lica will definitely tell on me…after she gives me a sermon. hahaha. She is a dear friend not only to me, but also to my husband. Therefore, I cannot expect her loyalties to be on my side if I am the one at fault.

• Tina will not tell on me. However, she will most likely use her gift of gab to convince me to come clean.

• Kelly will say: "Tara Chie, inom tau. Let's talk about it." All those alcohol she made me drink will make me then come to my senses and go back to the arms of my loving husband.

• Chinky, no doubt, will say something like: "Think about it carefully. But you have to choose. Whatever you decide on, I'll back you up."  (Wow, asteeeg, forever by my side to support me….) –wait there's more– Then sabay ultimatum: "AY NAKU! If you don't tell him in 5 days, ako ang magsasabi!". Just to put the "pressure and push" that I would need for me to do the right thing.

Let me do my research and ponder more about this situation before I can really say what I would do if I discovered my best friend is cheating oh her husband…
